The Cool Quest

With his list in hand, Marlowe’s cooling quest was underway. First stop: Mount Kosciuszko. As Marlowe trudged up the snowy slopes, the snow melted around him, creating a peculiar path of slush and water. This, naturally, attracted attention. In a world where whimsy met Australian reality, mountain climbers and skiers stared in shock as Marlowe’s heat transformed their winter wonderland into a sloppy mess.

Securing the rare coolant from the peak was easier said than done, especially since it kept evaporating upon contact. Yet, with a combination of swift movements and a borrowed thermos flask, Marlowe managed to contain it.

Upon his descent, Marlowe’s journey took an unexpected detour through a local summer festival. The festivities were in full swing with live music, dance, and the delectable aroma of barbecues in the air. As Marlowe made his way through, the excessive heat radiating from him caught the attention of a group of famished festival-goers.

“Why waste time with the old grills?” remarked one. “This bloke’s emanating enough heat to roast an entire pig!” And before he knew it, Marlowe was swarmed by enthusiastic cooks trying to grill sausages and patties on makeshift grates placed, comically, over his arms and legs. Marlowe’s attempts to shoo them away only fuelled the festive spirit, turning the episode into a spontaneous BBQ dance party.

Having finally made his escape, and somewhat amused by the unexpected culinary episode, Marlowe shifted his focus to the next item on his list – the elusive superconductor. His research indicated that this component was found in the deep, cavernous Melbourne mines. Remembering a local business he once came across for Bayside heating, he wondered if they had any contacts that could assist in his underground endeavour. To find the superconductor, he’d need the help of an expert.

Sure enough, after a series of misadventures, including an awkward conversation with a professional experienced in heater repair close to Cheltenham who mistook Marlowe’s request as a need to fix a faulty furnace, he found himself at the entrance of the mines. The descent was dark, damp, and chilling, but for Marlowe, it felt blissfully cool. The hunt for the superconductor was on.
