I’m a grandmother who has nothing better to do with her day. There, I said it! The day my final child decided to fly the coop was the day I could finally become free to do what I needed and wanted to do with my day. I did toy with the idea of getting a job for a little while, but it honestly seemed like more hassle than it was worth. Financially, I was not in a position where I needed another source of income, and physically, I could not be bothered getting up early each morning to start working. My daughter and I have a particularly close relationship. I think it’s because she knows I’ll always be there for her and I know she’ll always be there for me.
You know, some mothers-in-law absolutely hate the spouses of their children, but this isn’t possible with my son-in-law. He is a kind, hard-working man who loves to put my daughter at the centre of his world. How can I dislike him? I think he’s probably starting to dislike me though! My daughter is planning a bathroom renovation and I say it’s about time as her shower needs a grout repair. Since her mentioning to me that she would like to renovate, I have been over at her house every day helping her browse design magazines and pick the right style for her ensuite. While her husband is a lovely man, I think he’s becoming a bit tired of seeing my face each day. I know how it is. My husband was the same with my mother.
My daughter told me she is working with some of the most recommended bathroom renovation experts in Melbourne. It’s no wonder she used to work in talent acquisition! She has a real knack for finding the right people for the job. It’s probably because she knows how to trust her gut. See, I’m a very spiritual person and one thing I’ve learned in life is that being in tune with yourself helps you be in tune with the world around you.
