Island Ute

You know, living on a desert island has been a lot easier than I expected. The movies and shows I’ve seen made me believe it would be an incredibly difficult life as I scavenged for food and anything else I could find to make shelter and tools, but that has turned out to be far from the truth. I really thought I was in big trouble when the crew of my ship mutinied against me and cast me off into the sea with nothing but a lifeboat, but as it turns out, that was the nicest thing anybody has ever done for me.

When I landed on this island, I had high hopes for the abandoned shipping container that sat on the shore, but its contents exceeded even my wildest expectations. Inside was a brand new, customised ute and an almost limitless supply of petrol! I don’t know how it got there, but my guess is that a cargo ship must have been passing by the island when the shipping container got knocked off it in a storm. Lucky me! The ute even has a half canopy installed, which has been great for storing things that I want to keep safe when the weather turns bad.

Did I mention that the ute came with an entire set of tools? That has been pretty helpful. It turns out that this particular ute had been manufactured by a company that has ute trays installed close to Melbourne, and they throw in a set of tools as a bonus with every ute purchase. Because of that, my desert island life has mostly consisted of driving around, cutting down trees with my useful chainsaw and putting the logs in my ute. It’s been so easy that I’ve managed to get a really nice place set up for myself! And because I’m a bit of a genius, I took an afternoon to figure out how the internet works and got that up and running too.

Why don’t I use my internet to contact the mainland and ask for help? Well, the truth is that I kind of like it here. I think I might just stay for a while.
