I’ve been in my new apartment for six months now. I’ve really enjoyed living here so far. The apartment is in a fantastic location. The beach, the CBD, and my family are all a stone’s throw away, without it being overwhelming. Beneath the apartment is a supermarket which is extremely convenient as I’m someone who hates doing grocery shopping. Now I can pop downstairs whenever I need something! I’ve finally also finished setting up the apartment with furniture to make it homely and comfortable.
They say once you set into a place, that’s when you start noticing all its downsides. I’m happy to boast that there are no downsides to this apartment. It’s extremely roomy, gets a lot of sun, I can’t hear any neighbours, and it has everything I need. The only issue I have with the apartment is that they told me it was a two bedroom apartment. Granted, it is a two bedroom but it is a two bedroom where one of the rooms is missing a wall. This bothered me in the beginning, but I’ve enjoyed having this missing wall as it’s really opened up the living space. After some time, I am seeing that I would like a wall or partition here to turn this into a proper room. I’ve contacted Melbourne’s best residential plastering company for a quote. I’ve currently turned this second bedroom into a space where I’ve set up my computer and workstation. I live by myself so sound isn’t an issue. What is an issue is when I have guests over and they waltz into my work area and start looking at my sprawled out files.
I think I might also ask the plasterers about the benefits of fire resistant plasterboard. I’ve heard a lot about this but know nothing about it. As I live in an apartment, it might not be something I need. I’m sure the apartment has been built to be fire resistant anyway. I just don’t want this new partition or wall to not be according to building safety requirements.
